Graphics Part one: The ESC code

ESC is needed for every "effect", be it
a text colour or "separated graphic"
so it is obviously the first thing you
need to know.
You have to use another key in conjunc-
tion with the ESC. This combination of
keys is known as an "ESC code"; there
is one for each graphic "effect".
You might expect the ESCAPE key on your
keyboard to generate an ESC. This is
rarely the case (for reasons best known
to the software writers); each software
package seems to use its own method!
