MNET VIRGIN USER (C) 8007028c 0p What do DUKE and PANDORA do? DUKE is the Prestel Updating centre. All frame editing is carried out here: each edited frame is then sent out to all 8 IRCs (Austen, Bronte, Dickens, Dryden, Eliot, Enterprise, Keats and Kipling) PANDORA is the Messaging centre. It is responsible for routeing response frames and mailbox messages between the IRCs, and Duke. (Hence "Pandora's Box") If Pandora is overloaded, or out of action, the first thing you will notice is that Mailbox stops working. You will still be able to send response frames, as the IRC will store the message until the fault is cleared. 3 Start 9 Menu More #
