CHD What is it?
The pain of angina improves with rest
and treatment is available to control
the symptoms.
Sudden, complete blockage of coronary
arteries results in a HEART ATTACK. The
loss of blood supply causes serious
damage to the affected heart muscle.
Heart attacks cause very severe and
prolonged chest pain, with sweating,
weakness and even collapse.
The heart may stop beating, known as
CARDIAC ARREST. Death will then occur
within minutes unless first aid can
keep the heart pumping.
