 disease is still rising in the UK. In  
 the USA public awareness of the causes 
 has led to a reduction of the disease. 
                                        
   Coronary heart disease is responsible
 for 26% of deaths in this country. This
 is more than all cancers.              
                                        
   Men are more at risk than women but  
 the risk in women is increasing. This  
 is probably because more women smoke.  
                                        
   Many thousands more suffer years of  
 ill health and severely restricted     
 activity after heart attacks or because
