Non Specific Genital Infection This is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. It may result in inflammation (pain, burning or discharge) of the bladder, vagina, urethra or rectum. The commonest cause for this infection is an organism called chlamydia. Chlamydia infections in women can cause a serious condition called Pelvic Inflammatory Disease which may result in permanent blockage of the Fallopian tubes. This can cause sterility. Babies born to infected mothers may develop Chlamydia infections of the eyes and lungs requiring special treatment. key # to continue
