How is AIDS spread ? It is really very difficult to infect a person with HIV! The virus can only survive in body fluid. HIV can only be transmitted by allowing infected body fluid to enter the bloodstream. The virus has not been shown to be transmitted by skin contact or in the droplets from coughs or sneezes. Sexual intercourse with penetration by the penis of the vagina or rectum will allow transmission of the virus. It is clear that such intimate contact does allow infected body fluid into the bloodstream even if no bleeding is apparent at the time. key #
