What is the treatment ?
There is no treatment for AIDS. The
infections that result from the immune
deficiency state can be treated, but
the eventual outcome of the illness is
very poor. About half the people found
to have AIDS in this country are dead.
However we now know enough about
AIDS and the way that HIV infection is
spread to be able to give reliable
advice on prevention.
It is very important that everyone
becomes aware of the ways that AIDS can
be prevented. It is only by encouraging
these preventive measures that the
disease can be overcome.
