Offline Database

Healthdata was also available as a disc based offline database, also in the viewdata format.  It seems as if it was mostly a copy of the online content, so we present it here for your delight and access..

    The ozone layer

A layer of ozone in the upper
atmosphere protects the earth from the
 effects of ultra-violet radiation from
 the sun.

There is evidence to suggest that
this layer is being disrupted. If more
 ultra violet radiation reaches the
surface of the earth, the climate may
be affected and skin cancers are likely
 to increase.

    Many scientists think that chemicals
used in aerosol sprays and plastics are
finding their way into the ozone layer
and destroying it. Aerosols are now
banned in many part of the USA.
