Thrush
This disease is caused by a yeast-like
organism which is found in all people
but only causes symptoms if present in
very large numbers. It is possible to
develop thrush without sexual contact.
In women, thrush causes a thick white
discharge from the vagina which may
also result in itching and swelling of
the vulva. (key 2 for more details)
Men may get itching or soreness of the
penis.
Treatment for women is with a course
of tablets inserted into the vagina and
cream. Men should use the cream.
