This disease is caused by a parasite
that infects the vagina and urethra.
In women there is usually a heavy,
watery, offensive discharge which may
cause irritation and soreness. Most
men with the disease have no symptoms
at all.
Treatment is by a course of tablets
to all partners. The tablets may make
you quite ill if taken with alcohol. If
you are in any doubt about this, ask.
The treatment is very effective but
it is important to keep any follow-up
appointments.
